  River Grove American Legion   Meetings are held each month on the 4th Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Legion Hall located at 8664 West Grand Avenue in River Grove.  Each year the profits from our Card & Bunco Party are used to assist veterans at Hines Hospital.  Recent purchases include 10,000 “Nurse Advise Magnets”, and a mounting arm for a control unit for wheelchair bound veterans.  These gifts totaled over $2000.  We also visit with the veterans, playing Bingo with them six times a year. Veterans of Foreign Wars  The VFW meets the second Monday of each month for fellowship, information, and charitable concerns.  Our meetings are held at the American Legion Hall, 8664 West Grand Avenue, River Grove.  Food is served for the members at 6:45 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.
There also is an active VFW Auxiliary Unit, which meets at the Hall on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.  Additional information about the VFW can be obtained by calling the Commander Paul Calabrese at (708)257-0486.

 

River Grove Seniors   The River Grove Senior Citizens Club, a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit organization is open to persons of both sexes who are 55 years young or older.  Meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month at twelve noon in the River Grove Senior Community Center, 2621 Thatcher Avenue, River Grove.  Trips, entertainment, speakers, community service and various luncheons are part of the groups proceedings.  Bingo and card games are played after the meeting and light refreshments are served.  For more information please call Dorothea Leder at (708)453-9068.

  River Grove Historical Commission  Historical House and Barn Tours For tours of the house and barn please contact the Village office. Tours are by appointment only. The Historical House and Barn are located at 8455 West Grand Avenue.

Show Descriptions
The Little Star that Could - This children's show follows the adventures of Little Star as he travels the galaxy, learning about stars and planets.
Patriot Mini Laser Show - This sampling of songs from the Cernan Center's collection of laser light shows features "The Star Spangled Banner," "God Bless the USA" and "Living in America."
Monthly Skywatch - One Saturday night each month, the Cernan Center's Monthly Skywatch brings you the excitement of the current nighttime sky; the latest discoveries in astronomy, space science and Earth science; and (if weather permits) the opportunity to observe the moon, planets and other wonders of the sky through telescopes set up on the lawn outside the building.
Legends of Rock Laser Concert - This 60-minute plus laser concert features the music from a variety of classic rock artists.

Admission for either "Super Saturday" 7 or 8 p.m. show: $8 for adults, and $4 for children 2 to 12 and senior citizens 55 and over. Admission for the "Super Saturday" 9:30 p.m. Laser Concert: $10 for adults, and $5 for children 2 to 12 and senior citizens 55 and over. Special Rate to Attend Any Two Shows on One Night: $12 for adults, and $6 for children 2 to 12 and senior citizens 55 and over. Special Rate to Attend All Three Shows on One Night: $18 for adults, and $9 for children 2 to 12 and senior citizens 55 and over.

RSVP Hosts Annual Pancake Breakfast and a Day of Fun for the Whole Family

RSVP of West Suburban Cook and Southern DuPage Counties at Triton College is hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast with the opportunity for families to have a day of fun, too. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, in Room R-221 of the Robert M. Collins Center on Triton's main campus in River Grove and will run until noon.
For those families who want to see the Triton Trouper Circus, a Circus Special, a combination of tickets for the circus and the breakfast, can be purchased for a discounted price of $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Tickets for the Circus only are $6 a person. The Triton Trouper Circus will dazzle spectators at 1 p.m. in the Collins Center Gymnasium.
If you’re interested only in the RSVP Pancake Breakfast, a $4 donation will be accepted in advance, $5 at the door.

All proceeds benefit the RSVP Program and its volunteers.

TRITON TROUPERS CIRCUS

Triton Troupers Circus is an extraordinary show based out of Triton College near Chicago which has performed annually since 1972!

The 2012 shows are on:
Thursday March 29th - 7pm
Friday March 30th - 7pm
Saturday March 31st - *1pm and 7pm
*1pm Saturday show is interpreted for the hearing impaired.

Robert Collins Center Gymnasium
2001 N 5th Ave, River Grove IL.

All shows are handicapped accessible, all ages, and animal-free.  The show is about two hours long including an intermission, and drinks and snacks are sold.  Show may include fog and strobes, as well as balloons and confetti.  Doors open one hour before show time, so come early for best parking and tickets, and enjoy the clown pre-show.

Triton Troupers Circus is a non-profit effort dedicated to the preservation of the circus arts and to the local community.  Triton Troupers Circus features skilled performers in classic circus specialties such as Chairs, Clowning, Double Stunts, Globes, Gymwheel, Juggling, Statues, Teeterboard, Trampoline, Trapeze, Unicycle, Web, Wire, feats of strength and more.
